Praise for the Author
“Oliveras has perfected the second-chance romance trope with Alejandro and Anamaría. Their anguish is so real that the book should come with tissues. The Key West setting is vibrant, adding a blessed touch of armchair travel to the current global circumstances. Wonderfully soapy, this is a romance to read in one sitting. A stunning romance of first love found again.” —Kirkus Reviews (starred review), Anchored Hearts
“The Florida island setting is only part of the appeal of this character-driven, second-chance romance between smart and badass Anamaría and sexy and artistic Alejandro as they slowly realize that successful relationships have room for both partners’ professions and dreams. Another draw: Oliveras’s portrayal of family and social media ties are reminiscent of Alisha Rai’s romances.” —Booklist (starred review), Anchored Hearts
“A bighearted, beautiful book about first love, second chances, and finding one’s place in the world. Oliveras writes with a rare warmth that not only brings her characters to life but also lets her readers sink into the gorgeous Key West sunrises she so lovingly describes. An exceptional getaway of a book!” —Emily Henry, New York Times bestselling author of Beach Read
“Oliveras has been steadily growing her presence as a romance author, one with a knack for heartwarming family ensembles and a cozy sense of home. But Island Affair is her strongest work yet, perfectly calibrating its inviting family scenes with a sweet, heart-melting romance.” —Entertainment Weekly
“I finished Island Affair with a big smile on my face. I can’t decide what I adored more: Luis and Sara’s love story; their relationships with their complicated and difficult and loving families; or the setting of Key West, which sounded so beautiful I wanted to jump on a plane. I can’t wait to read more by Priscilla Oliveras!” —Jasmine Guillory, New York Times bestselling author
About the Book
They make beautiful music together. But it’s their passion that brings down the house.
Ambitious San Antonio singer Catalina “Cat” Capuleta gets the chance of a lifetime when she joins superstar heartthrob and fellow mariachi Patricio Galán on his seven-week concert tour. Demanding and arrogant, Patricio challenges Cat on every level, as an artist and as a woman. But headstrong Cat is determined to be his match. No matter how seductive Patricio’s baritone voice, Cat’s eyes are only on the prize: success and making her familia proud.
No woman gets under Patricio’s skin like Cat. Her talent mesmerizes. Her passion is thrilling. And her drive, stemming from an old unhealed family wound, exposes a vulnerability he secretly recognizes in himself.
When the duo hits the road, the sparks don’t just fly—they detonate. Stage by stage, as each reckons with the past—and with each other’s quick-fire personalities—they bring crowds to their feet, and Cat’s long-held dreams come true. Will their road romance go up in flames? Or could making music together kindle the most rapturous love song of their lives?
